Ask This Old House Features Geothermal November 25 2019, 7 Comments
"Ask This Old House" featured a geothermal installation in its latest episode, "Switch, Affordable Geothermal | Ask TOH."
The segment focuses on a compact sonic drill rig, which can cut a 7-hour drilling process to about 30 minutes! The rig employs 10-foot casing lengths that can be used over again from job to job. The rig also retains the drilling fluids and recycles the water to prevent messy slurry escaping onto the lawn.

Chris, Robb, Michael and Jake,
NY-GEO appreciates your interest in the sonic drill rig since it is a game-changer.
Unfortunately, it is proprietary and built specially for Dandelion Energy.

I live in California, I’m in the HVAC industry and I’m installing a new HVAC system.
I have been searching constantly for anyone in the Los Angeles area that does sonic drilling.

Hey Robb, I am also looking for someone in Minnesota who can do this. Have you had any luck yet?
Billii Roberti on August 09 2020 at 09:14PM
Thank you for your interest, Robb.
Dandelion Energy, the GHP installer featured in this “Ask This Old House” episode, operates exclusively in New York State.
As far as I can tell, having received no response from the drill rig manufacturer, this Terra Sonic drill rig is proprietary to Dandelion and thus not available for purchase by any other company.

Is this available in Minnesota?

Thanks for your interest Chris.
We have contacted the drill rig manufacturer to see if there are other installers in New York that use a Terra Sonic drill rig.
Meanwhile, check our Members Map (Membership>Members Map) to find an installer in your area.
Members, we invite you to respond here if you use a Terra Sonic drill rig.
