DEC Rejects Williams Pipeline May 20 2019, 0 Comments

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) rejected the heavily disputed, nearly $1 billion Williams Transco Northeast Supply Enhancement natural gas pipeline. Business leaders and energy companies warned that the decision could bring a gas moratorium to New York City and Long Island, according to The New York Times.

The grassroots Stop the Williams Pipeline Coalition of SANE Energy Project, Mothers Out Front, Food & Water Watch, Fossil Free New York, and others celebrated cautiously.
