Gov. Cuomo's "Green New Deal" January 28 2019, 0 Comments
On January 15, 2019 New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the launch of a "Green New Deal."
Outlined in his 2019 Justice Agenda, it calls for a "globally unprecedented" ramp-up in renewable energy deployments as New York seeks to achieve 100 percent carbon-free electricity by 2040, and ultimately to eliminate New York State's entire carbon footprint.
California’s governor signed a similar executive order to achieve carbon neutrality economy-wide by 2045, and its legislature passed a bill to achieve 100 percent clean electricity by the same year.
