NY-GEO Hires Rath September 23 2019, 0 Comments
The New York Geothermal Energy Organization enthusiastically welcomes the addition of John "JR" Rath to our team as Director of Operations. JR will work on a part time basis to assist Executive Director Bill Nowak, our leadership group and all NY-GEO members. He will be immediately working on gas moratorium issues in the downstate area and workforce development efforts.
A native of Lancaster, N.Y. JR's professional career took him to Texas to work for PepsiCo/Frito-Lay Inc. On a volunteer basis, John took leadership roles with local, state and national environmental/political campaigns including water conservation, solid waste management/recycling, citizen led air quality advocacy and opposition to a nuclear waste depository. John was chair of the Dallas Sierra Club, Downwinders at Risk and Keep Grapevine (TX) Beautiful and also was highlighted by the Dallas Morning News for his 40-mile round trip bicycle commute to/from work over a 20-year period.
JR states, "I'm dedicated to help create green jobs and a better environment, which is why I'm so happy to be joining this outstanding and effective team. It's great to be back in N.Y."
