Greetings Senator Kaplan,
“SCHOOL DISTRICT’S SUITABLE ROOF SPACE ON BUILDINGS THAT ARE ELIGI-
BLE FOR STATE BUILDING AID” should be amended to include PARKING LOTS ON SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY.
A few years ago NYSERDA started a program and awarded bids to solar companies to do the same. It was not a grant but the problems that presented was because of the age of roofs. I encourage you to investigate the success of that program and also investigate why it was not as successful as it should have been.
Feel free to contact me, retired school business official, Assistant Superintendent for three K-12 public schools on Long Island, intermittently from 1996-2018.
Respectfully,
Dr. Charles Bevington
