3 NYS Utilities Are Heat Pump Program Ready February 17 2020

In a January 16th order, the NY Public Service Commission had given utilities 30 days to file statements indicating if they were prepared to start heat pump incentive programs by April 1st.

This week NYSEG/RG&E, National Grid and Con Edison filed short letters indicating their readiness to get started. Presumably, Orange & Rockland and Central Hudson will be filing after the long weekend. The utilities have 60 days—until mid-March—to file implementation plans detailing how they intend to meet the heat pump energy savings targets from Appendix C of the PSC order.
