BU Has City's Largest Fossil Fuel-Free Building February 17 2020

On February 6, 2020 the Fast Company website reported on Boston University's latest project: Boston’s largest carbon-neutral, fossil fuel-free building.

Designed by KPMB Architects, the newly opened Center for Computing and Data Sciences includes a number of environmentally friendly features. For one, there are no gas lines connected to the 19-story building, so it is carbon neutral and fossil fuel-free. Instead, a geothermal heat pump system, utilizing 31, 1,500-foot deep geothermal boreholes, heats and cools the building.
