NY-GEO Supports Corning Gas on Depreciation July 20 2020

Corning Natural Gas Corporation has proposed a bold and farsighted plan in their latest rate case before New York's Public Service Commission. Recognizing that gas burning will need to decrease significantly by 2050 to meet New York's climate goals, they have proposed to accelerate their depreciation on gas infrastructure in harmony with the state's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA).

Unfortunately, Public Service Department staff responded by rejecting this initiative, advising the company to wait for New York's Climate Action Council to finalize plans under the CLCPA. NY-GEO has filed a letter in the case supporting the company's position.
