NYS Allocates $454 Million for Heat Pumps January 20 2020, 0 Comments
On Thursday, January 16th, the NY Public Service Commission (PSC) voted to order New York's utilities to meet increased energy efficiency targets of 3% reductions on electricity sales and 1.3% on gas sales.
As part of the order—for the first time—the energy savings resulting from customers who switch from fossil fuel heating to heat pumps will be included toward New York's energy efficiency goals. It also includes $454 million for heat pumps, and utilities will need to file implementation plans within 60 days.
